■ 강경호이야기 - 김대윤의「1288번지」

김대윤의 「1288번지」는 도시의 외관을 넘어서, 기억과 존재의 구조를 시각적으로 재현한 작품이다. 적벽돌로 입체화된 빌라 단지는 작가가 살아낸 공간의 물리적 흔적이자, 그 안에 깃든 공동체의 서사를 담아낸 정서적 지형도다. 특히 1층 주차장의 사실적 묘사는 작가의 실존적 기반을 상징하며, 그 위로 구축된 구조는 그의 내면적 사유와 감정의 층위를 드러낸다.

주차장 우측 모서리. 작품 속 인물들이 캔버스를 운반하는 장면과, 그 위층 창가로 보이는 피아노 연주는—그가 평소 사랑했던 음악과 함께—예술의 육체적 수고와 정신적 여정을 나란히 놓음으로써 창작의 본질을 직관적으로 드러낸다. 이는 “작위적(作爲的) 평론의 틀에 안주하지 않을 때 비로소 보이는 자유로움”(다헌 김수길 화백 「쉬어가는 쉼표」 중)이라는 강경호 작가의 언급처럼, 예술이 제도적 해석을 벗어날 때 비로소 생명력을 획득한다는 선언이기도 하다.

[Kang Gyeongho’s Story | KIM DAE-YEUN’s '1288 Beonji'] KIM DAE-YEUN’s '1288 Beonji' transcends the exterior of the city to visually reconstruct the architecture of memory and existence. The villa complex, rendered in red brick relief, is both a physical trace of the space the artist has lived in and an emotional topography that encapsulates the narrative of the community within. In particular, the realistic depiction of the first-floor parking lot symbolizes the existential foundation of the artist, while the structure built atop it reveals layers of his inner contemplation and emotion.

Especially the right corner of the parking lot. The scene of figures in the artwork carrying canvases, along with the piano performance visible through the window above, juxtaposes the physical labor and the spiritual journey of art—music he had always loved—intuitively revealing the essence of creation. This serves as a declaration that art acquires vitality only when it escapes institutional interpretation, echoing artist Kang Kyung-ho’s remark: “Only when one refuses to settle into the framework of contrived criticism does true freedom become visible” (from Resting Comma by painter Kim Soo-gil, pen name Daheon).

Every brushstroke and choice of color condenses the temporality and thought of the artist, remaining as a record of action that transcends superficial expression, and demanding from the viewer a moment of deep reflection. “1288 Beonji” is both the address of Kim Daeyoon’s life and the cadastral number of his art.
