한·일·호·뉴 정상 공동성명

대한민국, 일본, 호주, 뉴질랜드는 오늘 북한의 장거리 탄도미사일 발사를 강력히 규탄한다. 이는 북한이 계속하여 다수의 유엔 안보리 결의를 명백하게 위반하여 한반도는 물론 인태지역 및 국제사회의 평화와 안정에 대해 중대한 도전을 가하고 있음을 보여주는 또 하나의 사례이다.

4개국은 북한의 불법적 도발을 결연히 반대하며, 북한이 관련 유엔 안보리 결의들에 따른 모든 의무를 전적으로 이행할 것을 촉구한다. 우리는 대북 제재를 부과하는 유엔 안보리 결의들이 효과적으로 이행되도록 하기 위해 유엔 및 국제사회 구성원들과 함께 협력해 나갈 것이다.

북한이 아무리 핵·미사일 개발을 지속하고 핵무기 사용을 위협하더라도, 북한의 완전한 비핵화를 달성하려는 국제사회의 의지만 강화시킬 뿐이다. 대한민국, 일본, 호주, 뉴질랜드 4국은 북한이 도발을 중단하고 조속히 대화로 복귀할 것을 촉구한다. 출처:대통령실

Joint Statement of the Leaders of

the Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand

The Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand strongly condemn today’s long-range ballistic missile launch by North Korea. This is yet another example of how North Korea continues to violate multiple UN Security Council resolutions and pose a grave challenge to peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula, Indo-Pacific region as well as the international community.

The four countries resolutely oppose North Korea’s unlawful provocation and urge it to fully comply with all of its obligations under the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. We will work together with the UN and members of the international community to ensure that UN Security Council resolutions that impose sanctions against North Korea are effectively implemented.

Even if North Korea continues to develop its nuclear and missile programs and threaten the use of nuclear weapons, it will only bolster the international community’s resolve to achieve complete denuclearization of North Korea. The Republic of Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand urge North Korea to cease provocations and promptly return to dialogue. /End
